During the production of paper products, cutting imperfections are to be expected - cutting can be off by a couple of millimetres from the cutting line. To allow leeway for such imperfections, you should add 3 mm of bleed on all edges of your artwork. Make sure all colours, background pictures, and elements extend to the edge of the bleed area, to avoid the appearance of white borders on certain edges after cutting. Learn more how to set up the bleed here.
Back in the year 2000, Jacquie Lawson, an English artist living in the picturesque village of Lurgashall in Southern England, created an animated Christmas card featuring her dog and cats, and her 15th-century cottage, and sent it to a few friends for their amusement. Those friends sent the ecard to others, and within weeks Jacquie was inundated with requests from all over the world to design more. In February 2002 she teamed up with a few friends and family members to create jacquielawson.com.

Even though designs for birthday cakes are extremely flexible and do not follow any pattern, there are some things that should be kept in mind while deciding on birthday cake designs. Though the possibilities are endless with patterns for birthday cakes, the themes should be decided keeping in mind age group and characteristics of the person who's birthday it is.
